About
Startup Festival Malta

Malta Enterprise has been leading the national ecosystem for start-ups. This is the third year that has seen the Start Up Festival running. The first year saw a celebration of our ecosystem and the 20th Anniversary of the Kordin Business Incubation Centre (KBIC) which provided a launchpad for various startups and today boasts several success stories.

After the success of the first year the second year provided experiences for youngsters that aspire to be founders but also matchmaking for more advanced start-ups and scale-ups looking to strike deals with local and international angel investors.

The third edition of the Startup Festival will be held between the 5th and 6th of October 2023, at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) and the adjacent park in Ta’ Qali, Malta.

In its first two editions, Startup Festival Malta has hosted some of the best entrepreneurial minds in Malta and has managed to attract hundreds of new local and international businesses, representing various sectors including FinTech, Digital Gaming, VR/AR, Metaverse, Medicinal Cannabis, BioTech, MedTech and the Blue Economy. We no aim to bring to you an even better and bolder event!

Apart from keynote talks by headline international guests and thought-provoking panels this year we shall be adding tailor-made practical workshops. Our expanded exhibition space will embody the vision for an event which is coming of age, while our mindfulness area shall seek to offer an experience that appeals to both mind and body. The festival will once more offer a matchmaking opportunity for startups and scaleups looking at raising funds via local and international business angels and VCs.

For the first time we will also have our own pitch competition – named ‘Pitch Black’ which aims to shine a light on you and your MVPs prospects. Here founders will present their accomplishments and vision to a professional panel of judges, and compete for a final awards service package. Additionally, during both days of the festival, Malta Enterprise will also be launching its brand new podcast ‘Business Matters’.
