
The Malta Venture Capital manages a €10 million fund by investing equity in start-up companies operating within the digital economy and innovative economic sectors that contribute significant value to the Maltese economy.

VisitMalta Incentives & Meetings (VMIM), a division within the Malta Tourism Authority, promotes conference, incentive travel, association business, luxury travel and destination weddings to the Maltese Islands.

Residency Malta Agency is the Government entity responsible for managing and promoting three residency programmes for non-EU nationals. The Malta Permanent Residence Programme, the Nomad Residence Permit and the Malta Startup Residence Programme. Through these programmes, third-country nationals are granted temporary or permanent residency in a safe and stable jurisdiction, with business opportunities, and access to top-notch education and health care, while enjoying a Mediterranean lifestyle.

The Malta Startup Residence Programme grants a 3-year residence permit, extendable for an additional 5 years, during which beneficiaries are able to reside in Malta while launching their startup venture. Intended for non-EU nationals, this competitive programme is specifically designed to facilitate the setting up of innovative startups and scale-ups in Malta whilst supporting the immigration process of their founders/co-founders, core employees and respective immediate family members.

The Nomad Residence Permit enables holders to retain their current employment based in another country whilst legally residing in Malta. The Permit is open to individuals who can work remotely and independent of location, using telecommunications technologies.

SuperCharger Ventures is the leading global ecosystem for EdTech startups, operating across the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malta, Saudi Arabia and Rwanda. To date, in Malta SuperCharger Ventures has accelerated 70 startups out of 1,860 applicants. This selection rate has enabled SuperCharger to find companies with average ARR of $500,000 and with Cohort 4 reaching a 100% relocation intention. SuperCharger Ventures is in the process of putting together a fund, to further enhance its value proposition and strengthen Malta Startup Eco-system.

How It All Started
The Startup Festival began by celebrating Malta’s growing start-up scene and the 20th anniversary of KBIC. It quickly evolved, with the second edition introducing youth engagement and investor matchmaking. In the years that followed, it continued to grow, drawing top entrepreneurial talent and hundreds of start-ups from sectors like FinTech, Gaming, VR/AR, BioTech, and the Blue Economy.
